how much did you spend on your dog for grooming each year for a long coat breed or short coat? Did you groom them youself or find a groomer to do it? Your are more prefer mobile grooming service or a grooming salon?

I have found that even in a relatively small city, you can pay just about as much as you want to for Dog Grooming services!

There was one dog groomer in town that also has obedience classes and doggy day care, and they were charging me $40 for my Pomeranian…not a big dog, but double-coated and not liking to be brushed.

I found another groomer even closer to my home who charges me $37 for the Pom PLUS my Boston "Terror". Plus, my dogs LOVE to go see her, they pull at their leashes to get INTO the building, so I know they don’t hurt the dogs there.

I take my dogs to be groomed about every 6-8 weeks, and in between, we try to keep them brushed a little…sort of…. :) OK, I admit, we’re not good at brushing!

I have some doggy "perfume" I got at the pet store that helps keep the odor down on the Boston, she gets sweaty-smelling.

I take my beautiful tiny short hair mixed breed to a groomer about every 3 weeks and get her nails done and her anal sacs expressed. It’s $9. I take her to a salon, and I go out of my way to go to this particular salon because the groomer acts like she adores my little princess. She is very kind and gentle; she gives treats; she fawns over my dog.

This is about $156 a year.

I get my long coated dog professionally groomed two or three times a year. He hates being brushed and his coat gets so matted that it is well worth $40 a pop to have someone else deal with it.

My smooth coated dog has never seen the inside of my groomers, and never will. I brush her weekly.

I have a Border Collie, I have him professionally groomed outside of my home every 10 weeks, I spend roughly 324.00 per year to have him groomed. Your grooming rate may differ depending on the state that you live in.
