Ok I am an aspiring Dog Grooming business owner, and I was wondering if you could answer a few questions.

1. What is the best kind of equipment? (scissors, clippers, blow driers, ect.)
2. How much did it start to get the business started?
3. Approximately how many cages should I get?

What other tips could you give me?
Thanks so much!

Start out small (low overhead) and expand as your business grows.
I don’t know all that many groomers that agree on which brand of equipment is best. That is pretty much personal opinion. You can always get better equipment later if it is a budget buster up front.
The number of cages is determined by how many dogs/day you book.

You will quickly learn that being a business owner is not an 8 to 5 job.

I am wanting got start a new career in Dog Grooming. I know an company near me is offering a course which is 24 days and gets you training in what you need to know for £3800 plus £500 for registration for exams with NPTC and you get a few things with that. But I am wondering when i become qualified would whoever I work for provide the tools or would I need to buy my own? Where would be the best place to buy them from and how much should i expect to pay?

Any help would be grateful

2 How To: Eyebrows The Rescue Spa SeriesInstruction on how to create beautifully shaped eyebrows.

You’ll need: tweezers, brow scissors and an eyebrow brush.

Before you start tweezing, brush your brows upwards. Picture the desired shape as a final result. Consider your natural brow line and the symmetry of your brows. Under the brow, the goal is for the hairs to follow a very clean line that gives your brow the desired shape. It is recommended to tweeze both brows back and forth, and not to complete one and move to the other. The reason for doing so, is to create symmetry between the two, which is very important. Keeping the most natural shape of your brows is the best way to go. For example, a very high arch doesn’t always equal the best brow. It is ok to tweeze above the brows. Again, the goal is to create a clean line that gives your eyebrows shape. Brows look their best fuller, closer to the center of the face and slightly thinner towards the temples. If your brow hairs are long, brush them up and trim following the line you created tweezing. Lastly, apply eyebrow gel once you are done to keep them looking groomed all day!

Tip: using a magnifying mirror might make you over-tweeze and create a different shape from the one you originally had in mind. You can use it for cleanup, but, not for brow shaping.

I want to learn Dog Grooming. Due to family commitment, I prefer to learn it from home. It will perfect for me if the course is reasonably priced. Thanks

nope- it would be like trying to become a hairstylist from an online course. Impossible. You need the hands-on experience with supervision from experienced groomers.
