I’m 19 and have been with my 16 year old boyfriend for 7 months now. When we got together (about a week before his 16th birthday) things were absolutely brillian between us – we’d been great friends for 3 years previously and I got on really well with his family. However when he came out to his parents about us, their attitude changed completely. I mean sure, I was expecting them to be uncomfortable and surprised with the idea at first, but their reaction really took the biscuit.
His father basically refused to talk to me, which in a strange way I respect him for – if you don’t like me then don’t talk to me, fine by me. His mother however has been awful. At first she just made snide comments and gave me dirty looks (it was clearly all my fault her son is gay, although he’s just confused and being influenced by me) but when in June we still hadn’t broken up, she rang the police and told them we’d had underage sex.
This was completely fabricated but it still took the police until 2 weeks ago to release me without charge. My boyfriend who I was told by police to stay away from during this time, had told his mum he was disgusted by her and had by now moved into his grandparents, under strict instruction from his mum not to let them know about the situation. However upon learning I was not going to prison for "sexual grooming" (which erm, isn’t even what she originally alleged against me :s) decided to tell everyone in their family what had happened, presumably out of spite. His grandparents said they didn’t care and that he was still her grandson, which led her to tell them if they let him see me while he was there, she’d make sure they never saw him again. She then proceeded to switch his phone onto a contract under her name so she could check if he was texting me or not.
Given I’d just bought a phone this didn’t deter us until Friday night, when (presumably because he hadn’t texted my old number) she decided he wasn’t allowed to text anyone and cancelled his contract.
So now he’s stuck without a phone, at a house with no Internet connection, with people who won’t let me see him or even let him out of the house by himself. Some of his last texts to me said he was becoming sick of his family and didn’t care for them anymore – I don’t want him to lose his family but I’m also concerned for my relationship – what can I do? Surely their treatment of him can’t be legal?
How can he be your boyfriend if he’s gay? SO NO.
I really need to get my dog groomed. The problems: she’s 13 yrs. old, never been groomed before, and I really don’t know how she would do with a stranger if I’m not there. So what I’m trying to find is a place in Wichita, KS where I can take her and maybe stay with her or a groomer that can come to my house and do it. If anyone knows of any places like this please let me know.
Check your yellow pages for mobile groomers. Tell them your concerns before the appointment.
With a dog that age, that is not used to being groomed it might be better to take her to the groomer at a vets office.

hey guys.. so i was thinking about the equipment you need when owning a horse and i was wondering if this list was right (not including grooming kit – this is all for the horse)
Saddle (including stirrups and stirup leathers)
Stable rug
Winter turnout rug
summer turnout rug
Fetlock boots (?)
Saddle cloths
Numnah
is that it? i hope i didn mis anything
so now the stable stuff (not incuding barrel and shovel etc just the necessary things for feeding)
haynet
Tyre bowl
and a bucket (water bucket)
please commenta and say if i have missed anything out! thanks..
you forgot about the girth and bridle !!!
other than that i think its good as long as you have a change of numnas and saddle pads e.g two of each. I dont mean two of the same ones (unless you want to) but jus generally two different ones so that you can still ride when you wash your other numnahs etc
hope i helped
xx
There are 3 different versions of Nintendogs out there and the on-line descriptions don’t give much detail on what breeds of dogs are available on each one. I’m trying to decide which one to buy but would like to know my dog options first.
THANKS!
Dachshund and friends: mini dachshund, retriever, pug, husky, shih tzu, beagle
Chihuahua and friends: chihuahua, boxer, german sheperd, shetland sheepdog, yorkshire terrier, cavalier k c spaniel
Labrador and friends: corgi, lab, mini pinscher, mini schnauzer, shiba inu, toy poodle
You can eventually get all of them on the same one.
I sent my pet shih tzu for a summer cut at The Animal House Alabang-Zapote Branch. I was advised to get my pet shaved instead since she had many clumped hair in different areas. When we got our dog, her right eye was already teary and there was a vet’s instruction already to irrigate and apply Gentamicin drops on my pet’s right eyes 2x a day for 5 days. Apparently, my pet’s eye got injured by their staff during the grooming.
As for the appearance of the eye, she was still teary for quite some time but there were no cloudiness in her eyes. After 3 weeks, I noticed that the black part on her right eye has been whitish/cloudy. I brought her back to the veterinary clinic and I was told that there was a certain part of the whitish area that is called a scar tissue as a result of the puncture. The veterinarian said it will take up to 2 months of medication until my pet’s eye will be restored to its original state.
I am so worried about her. What are the chances for my pet’s recovery?
If it was just a minor abrasion, she should heal up well. If it were a serious puncture, the vet probably would have suggested enucleation. I would assume the chances are great since he is treating it conservatively.
how much did you spend on your dog for grooming each year for a long coat breed or short coat? Did you groom them youself or find a groomer to do it? Your are more prefer mobile grooming service or a grooming salon?
I have found that even in a relatively small city, you can pay just about as much as you want to for Dog Grooming services!
There was one dog groomer in town that also has obedience classes and doggy day care, and they were charging me $40 for my Pomeranian…not a big dog, but double-coated and not liking to be brushed.
I found another groomer even closer to my home who charges me $37 for the Pom PLUS my Boston "Terror". Plus, my dogs LOVE to go see her, they pull at their leashes to get INTO the building, so I know they don’t hurt the dogs there.
I take my dogs to be groomed about every 6-8 weeks, and in between, we try to keep them brushed a little…sort of….
OK, I admit, we’re not good at brushing!
I have some doggy "perfume" I got at the pet store that helps keep the odor down on the Boston, she gets sweaty-smelling.
