Actually heres a picture of him:

Now I can cut hair, and I’ve cut his before and made him look really cute but I want some websites where I can cut his hair to make him look cuter.
Btw: that picture isnt recent, i took it a while ago, so I really need to cut his hair, and we dont have the money to get him groomed.
Can someone please provide some links that I can visit for step by step instructions?

I’m sure that your puppies will look really cute with her new hair cut! Just cut it. Practice makes perfect … and it doesn’t take long for their hair to grow back.

I recently got a dog from a neighbor. She is a husky mix. She told me that she could not control her when she tried to groom her. She also had no leash manners. It did not take very long to teach her how to walk on a leash. Much to my surprise, I have no trouble with brushing her fur. She seems to really enjoy it. The vet showed me how to clip her nails and brush her teeth. He had no problem doing this, but I do. What could I be doing wrong?

I’m not sure that you’re doing anything wrong, but perhaps the dog is sensing your nervousness, and is just reacting to that. Try to relax and talk to your dog softly the whole time you are either grooming her or brushing her teeth, etc.

Nails are hard to trim on some dogs, and if yours seems to be one of them, then maybe you’d be better off getting your vet or a groomer to do them when needed.

I’m so glad you were able to take this dog and give it a kind and loving home. Your getting the dog to walk on lead and grooming her just proves, dogs want to please us, if we just make it clear what we want them to do.

Good luck with your pretty girl…may you enjoy many happy years with her.

I’m interested in starting a pet grooming business sometime within the next few years. How is the market for this? About how much money will i need? I have seen people say 100k, but i cant imagine it would be this much…it’s not like i’m opening a restaurant, i’ll be providing a service for people’s pets. I’ll need a space and equipment to start with. Any advice would be great.

I noticed that no one has answered your question even though you posted three days ago, so I decided to answer even though I don’t really know that much about the Dog Grooming market. I found a website that looks like it has a lot of information though: http://www.pet-business-opportunity.com/petgroomingbusiness.html
I think that would be a good place to start your research.

As far as money goes, it all depends on location and the size of your shop. Like you could choose between a small shop with only a couple of tubs and a couple of groomers (or yourself as the only groomer, I don’t know what your actual plans are), or running it out of your home, or even a mobile pet grooming van. And you’ll definitely need some training, but you’re not required to have a license or anything. A general list of equipment would be a tub, a grooming stand, a variety of brushes and combs, mat removers, shampoo and conditioner, drying cages, maybe a forced air dryer, clippers, towels, etc. The prices will obviously vary depending on the amount of equipment you’ll need as well as the quality of the equipment you’ll buy. I’m sure you could get a lot of things used though, which would lower costs. You could try ebay or craig’s list or something. I don’t see it costing anywhere close to 100k, but like I said, it depends on a lot of different things. Just make sure you write out a business plan so you know the specifics of what you’re getting into. Hope that helped a little bit even though I know I wasn’t very specific! The website does seem good though, I think.

I need a gallery that shows more images of Dog Breeds on the same page. I DON’T want to click through 100+ pages to see each breed individually. Any ideas?

No, sorry. The closest thing I have found is the AKC website where you click "breeds by name" and it gives you pages of dogs in alphabetical order. www.akc.org
Google Dog breed photos

It’s been almost 3 months. Part of our frustration in keeping our house listed is our dogs are kenneled to preserve the new lanscaping, floors, etc. If we bring them home and keep them groomed and then confined or out of the house when people are looking do you think it would ruin our chances of selling if we brought them home? I miss them so much! Also–it’s $900 p/m to kennel them and we are going into debt to keep them somewhere else. to keep our home in pristine condition.

If we bring them home would it reduce our showings if we asked for extra notice to clean any dog hair and arrange kenneling them for a couple of hours at the dog kennel? We’d be changing the showing instructions from "call and show" to "by apt. only".

Help! I want my life back to some degree. I am pregnant and have a toddler–I work and have a husband with a long commute so I have to do the cleaning, etc.. myself because I telecommute for the most part. Any life balance suggestions?

I’d bring them home, too. But don’t let them run amok in the house and yard so the improvements need improved again.

In my area, it is actually fairly rare to show a house that doesn’t have pets.

There is an inexpensive product called Aller-Pet that you can brush on your dogs that keeps the dander down if you are concerned about the allergy issue. I’m sure you can find it online at a pet supply website.

Just try to keep everything nice. I hope you sell it!

Hello, I wanted to know if anyone is experienced in the Dog Grooming industry enough to help me out in picking out good clippers and also a good price. I wanna know what is better Andis or Oster or is there something else I want some that will last a long time and that will give my clients a quality and comfortable cut. If anyone can help please do thanks Cathy

I have a variety of different brands of clippers but I prefer Andis over the others. They are slimmer & fit better in my hands(very small hands), don’t have vents that blow air like most Oster & don’t become as hot as quick as Oster or Wahl brands. Wahl ones also sounds a bit louder & have more vibration. Petedge.com usually has the best prices & largest variety of clippers. I have 4 different Andis clippers & like them all but I do prefer the lighted ones for clipping black/dark dogs esp. clipping the privates & underarms. The light really does help you see better. You will need more than one in case something happens.(which always does when you least expect it)
