By essentials I mean the extra’s, not the obvious, I have my tack and my clothing, I just mean like, bathing equipment, Grooming Equipment, braiding supplies, hooks, saddle racks…and i was also looking at saddle pads, splint + bell boots, and some new half chaps for practice riding too. Please answer, I would really appreciate it! thanks

You can find really good prices on www.horse.com ,there isn’t as much selection as someplace like www.doversaddlery.com but they’re both good options depending on what you’re looking for. I would also reccomend looking on www.ebay.com because you can find some sellers who just have ebay stores who sell nothing but equestrian stuff, and you can find some sweet deals, hope this helps! have fun showing!

I was wondering what Dog Breeds were popular in Renaissance England and in medieval times.

Hello.

I have a almost 9 week old Shih-Poo girl.
Can anyone tell me how to groom my girl at home? Does anyone know a good website with pictures and instructions?
When can I take her to the groomer for the first time? She will get her second shots on Friday.

Thanks for your answers.

Take her to the groomer NOW! It is best to start them out as puppies. They get used to it and act better every time. The groomer may just tdo a "bath &tidy" at first to get her used to the smells, the noise, and the dryers. B & T’s include toenails, potty area and trimming around eyes& feet, & cleaning ears. Depending on her hair type, there are several options to the clipping. Probably a teddy bear would be cutest, esp. if she has curls. Have had bad experiences with dog groomers and am ready to do some of the basics myself and wonder where one can find online grooming tips?

What breed of dog do you have.

My wife and I want a puppy for our household, but I already have a 5 year old Sun Conure. What breeds would work the best to fit into our home? My wife kind of wants a medium to large dog. Thanks for any help.

In general, I would suggest no breeds that are "hunting" dogs or dogs with strong prey drive. Like one woman said, her Labs are fine, but some of them (that I’ve met anyway) like to chase things that are smaller…"Yay, fun game!". They’re a wonderfully sweet dog, they just may not be "the one" for you. I suppose it is that way with a lot of different breeds, just my .02. But I also agree with a poster that said if they are raised from puppyhood, there shouldn’t really be a problem. There are several "tests" on the Web that can help you choose the best breed for you based on your criteria.

And when you DO get a dog, just supervise with that bird, because you never know. Good luck, and have fun choosing a pup!

I just bought Ardell fake eyelashe singles and I only put 3 on each outer eye so I dont waste them if they come off tonight in my sleep. But the instructions say they stay on for 3 to 4 weeks and come out when your eye lsah normally sheds off. I got a new looking kit with lots of lashes, glue, glue remover and tweezers, and the lashes are 3 haired, but all nicely groomed together instead of the older packs where the lashes were still 3 hairs, but each going in a different direction. These look more like salon quality. Has anyone ever used these? Please any info on these would help….1st timer here

strips are easy to put on but they last a day, yet, you can reuse them. the individual ones last longer (2 or 3 weeks) and they look better, but its hard to do them yourself. my advice to u… if you just need a quick look for the day or a night on the town, do the strip. but if like the look of long lashes all the time, you should do the individual ones (thats if u have the time 2 put them on, or know someone that can apply them for you)

Where can i get information on attending Dog Grooming conventions and seminars in my state of northern colorado? I am a newbie dog groomer and would like information on how and where to attend these including where and how to attend dog shows in my state as well. thanks for any help!

HI,

Visit this site – www.cppga.org. It is the Colorado Professional Pet Groomers Association site. They have info on it and maybe you can hook up with a groomer in the area. Someone might be willing to mentor you in your area.

Dog shows are a great source of info and you can ask lots of questions. Most people grooming their dogs at a show are more than willing to ask questions. If you find somebody who is not, just move on.

The shows in the Colorado area (Region 8 soon to be Region 6) are found on www.onofio.com. The next AKC shows in Colorado will be in February at the Hall of Education (where the stock show is). These shows are usually around Valentine’s day and are only about $5.00 to get in. It’s a four day long event so bring comfortable shoes.
