Cats and small to mid sized dogs. The groomer brings their own equipment, towels,a grooming table, is very experienced, insured, cleaned up well after and was priced like a grooming shop.
If they were qualified, of course people would do it. Cats in particular hate leaving the house and hate getting groomed, it would be great to make it more comfortable.
It may be tough to manage to still make a profit charging like a grooming shop. You need to figure in gas, and you would be seeing less animals due to driving time, and you wouldn’t have a walk in business. I would pay a little more than grooming shop prices knowing that, since it is such a convenient and beneficial service. Its just a matter of finding more of those people.
I was wondering which Dog Breeds were considered to be aggressive here in the United States. I am having to relocate and some of the homes I am considering renting do not allow aggressive dogs. I have a Siberian Husky, he is 4 going on 5, he is a well mannered dog.
Here is an excerpt from the "dangerous dogs" list.
Pit bulls
Rottweilers
German Shepherds
Huskies
Alaskan Malamutes
Doberman Pinschers
Chow Chows
Great Danes
St. Bernards
Akitas

how do i even put them on her? will they cause her discomfort? i bought some at walmart but theres no instructions on how to use them.
What are you using to attach the bows? Rubber bands?
I put bows on all the female dogs I groom. Even those with only about 1/4 inch of hair.
I make my own bows and use rubber bands. I wrap the rubber band around a hemostat (could also use tweezers) like 2 or 3 times, grab a piece of hair with the end of the hemos then slide the bow down onto the hair as I pull the hemos back.
If the dog has longer hair..like the topknot of a ShihTzu, Maltese Yorkie etc..then I just grab some hair, make a ponytail and wrap the band around the hair.
Bows will not cause discomfort as long as they are in right and not too tight.
Be very careful with the rubber bands that you do not get any of the skin caught in there! Also, be sure that the hair is not wrapped too tight so that the eyes are bulging out.
i am making a Dog Grooming place for some extra money and want some suggestions on what to call it?
Ok, you would rather save money on advertising ? right. Start with a number like "#1 pet grooming" or the first few letters. "Annies grooming, Betty’s pet salon, A Better groom" when you sign up for all the FREE web listings they go alphabetical, so you will be on the top of the list !!!
Hey, I need some Grooming Equipment and would prefer to buy it online so would need the company/site name.I don’t have a lot of money to spend but need good quality stuff. The things I need are;
Metal curry comb
Plastic curry comb
Mane and tail brush
Body brush
Dandy brush
Hoof pick
Sponge
Mud buster
Sweat scraper
Face brush
Can you think of any thing else I need?
I agree that you do not need half that stuff and Robinsons is very good.
Metal curry to clean your body brush.
Dandy brush
Hoof pick
Sponge (bought from any shop)
Sweat scraper if you are going to be working your pony very hard or bathing him a lot. (A piece of bailer twine works very well)
Now I will tell you something that not many will know about. It is a brilliant addition to your grooming kit especially with winter and mud coming!
Buy a packet of three stainless steel pot scourers, the round shiny ball ones. Unravel them and then plait them together so they form a sort of pad. This is the best thing ever for removing mud. The horses do not mind it at all (even my clipped out, very fit TBs do not object to it on their ticklish bits)
Instead of a mane comb get a dog comb with a handle, it is better for pulling manes.
You do not use a plastic curry or mud buster (whatever that is) with the wire pad, nor do you need a face brush, your ordinary brushes are fine.
The only thing I can think that you have missed is a water brush for dampening mane and tail.
The other thing for a final shine is a stable rubber but, any piece of cloth will do for that.
A cheap hair brush does well for tails.
I’m moving away to college ideally, I just haven’t received any information from the school yet. I’ll be living by myself and would prefer to have a dog. What are some good breeds for people who live in apartments? Either small ( like French Bulldog size) or any large breed that can live in a small place.
Newfoundlands are affectionate and can live in apartments, they also fall into the large dog catagory. Any toy breed does well in small homes. non-sporting dogs also do well. DO NOT get a hound, sporting hearding or terrier dog, they do not do well, and can develop hyper isolation anxiety which can cause destructive and agressive behavior.
